Why is it that people feel they need to compare babies? Each baby is an individual and should be nurtured as such. So what if a baby down the street had five teeth by the time he was 3 months old or another baby was able to sleep through the night at 6 weeks old. I am not interested in being the first on the block to say that my baby can sleep through the night, eat three square meals a day, can speak three languages AND knows sign language. I am more interested in letting my baby be the way she is. If she doesn't get teeth until 9 months old, so be it. If she still wakes up at night for a feeding, so what. If all she can say is "ba-ba" over and over, big deal. Don't get me wrong .. I am interested in her meeting the "developmental milestones" ... but I'm not out to beat YOUR kid.. I'll let her decide when she's ready to do just that.
