I am in the midst of my first knitting project. I am making a baby scarf. It seems a little strange to be making something that will be wrapped around her neck while she's so little .. but I guess it's a relatively short project and will keep this newbie motivated to knit. The first day of knitting I did awesome! I only got about 4 inches done .. but with no mistakes that my novice eyes noticed. Yesterday's knitting .. a different story. There are about 4 are visable mistakes. I thought about how I was supposed to fix them, but then realized that keeping them just added to the character. I have heard that some mistakes will create a hole or a run, but I will take my chances. If and when a hole appears I will "patch" it up. I doubt my daughter will complain. If everything was perfect it would be boring.
