and ... scene

well, we did it. we did the 5k last saturday on the coast. matt and i were pretty much stride for stride for the most part, but he ended up beating me by one second. at one point matt got ahead of me and right before the finish line i gave it all i had and tried to pass him up, but no thanks to his parents screaming at him that i was coming, he too gave one final sprint and ended up beating me by one second. all is good though. i'm proud that we did it and we're already planning our next run. we're not yet ready to move up the race ladder and tackle a 10k just yet so we're just going to do another 5k .. maybe in january. we still hate running and the winter wonderland we're currently having outside makes it real hard to get out there and run ... but it makes it real easy to sit next to the fire with some hot chocolates and smores!
