Hubby's Dirty Thirty

Poor Hubby, he's trying to wrap his mind around being 30 and is having a hard time. I tried to make it better by bringing him to this cute little Italian restaurant, Positanos Italiano, for his birthday dinner. It was our first time there and it will be our last. Honestly I have to say that it was THEE WORST DINNER EVER. Yes, I just used the word 'thee'. The situation called for it. The restaurant itself is very nice. But flashing red lights should have went off when we pulled up to the restaurant and we thought that it was closed because there were practically no cars and you couldn't see anyone in the windows. I made Matt go in an check before taking Gwyn out of the carseat. Throughout our whole dinner we were the only table in the restaurant that had people in it. Needless to say our server was very attentive. I ordered some gnocchi with a tomato based sauce and Matt ordered some veal tortellini with a cream based sauce. My first bite and I immediately thought "ghetto spaghetti". The sauce was orange. The dish was bland. I was very disappointed. Matt on the otherhand had an even worse dish. His literally had NO taste. It was weird. We spent a total of 30 minutes in that restaurant. It took us longer to decide what to eat than actualy eating time. We politely asked for a doggy bag and smiled at the server when she said "That's quick!". I guess we should have told her how awful the dishes were, but after her little run down of how the restaurant is under a new chef from restaurant blah-blah-blah and how they're very excited to have him, I just didn't have the heart. Matt said he was going to spread the word to not eat there, but I told him that obviously we were the LAST to get the word.

Later that night we went to our neighborhood holiday party, or Holiday in the Manor, as it was called. Four houses were involved where you spend 45 minutes at each talking, eating, and boozing it up. Our neighborhood consists of mostly 'old people' .. and by old I mean people in their 50's and older. I think we may be the youngest family in the neighborhood ... even with Matt just turning 30! Anyhow, it was nice to get out and watch all the old ladies down glass after glass of wine ... and we just went to one house! At least our old folks know how to let loose!
