| Can it happen again? Apparently so. We went for sushi again last night, but to a different place. We ordered a shrimp tempura, eel, california, and spicy crunchy tuna roll. It was all very good. Another server came by to look at Gwyn and suggested we order the "Ron roe" (at least that's what it sounded like, she had a thick accent). She said that it's the roll everyone gets and is very good. She suggests it too all of her tables. After finishing our original order, and due to curiosity we went ahead and ordered the "ron roe". We quickly looked over the sushi menu for the "ron roe", but it was not listed. We assumed (you know what happens when you assume) that the roll couldn't be more than $10 since the rainbow roll was only $9.50, and that's a typically more expensive roll. The "ron roe" was shrimp tempura, tuna, avocado, cream cheese with the eel sauce. It was indeed very good. We had agreed to make this roll a staple whenever we came back. When we got the check we quickly changed our minds. That one roll was fricken $13.75!! Our original order of 4 rolls was only $22. "Ron roe" is their codeword for SUCKER. The servers must go back and give each other high fives and slaps on the ass when then sell one of those. 8:25 AM |
